Are Your Users Getting Hosting Services Communications?

Published
Information on upcoming maintenance and upgrade schedules, unplanned outages, and important news, such as the announcement of the Hosting Services Status Page, is sent to our customers from the Blackbaud Hosting Services Communications team. If you are not receiving these email notifications, it is possible that you may not be setup to receive them, they are being blocked on your internal email server as spam, or you may have previously opted out of emails from Blackbaud.

Blackbaud Hosting Services communications are sent to customers that meet the following criteria:

  • You are listed on Blackbaud’s website as having the role of Website Administrator, Hosting Primary User, or Primary Contact for the product(s) applicable to the communication.

For example, if maintenance is scheduled for The Raiser’s Edge, an email will be sent to all Hosting Administrators, Hosting Primary Users, and Raiser’s Edge Primary Contacts.  If a user is not listed with one of these roles in Blackbaud’s records, they will not receive the notification email.  Likewise, a user with only The Financial Edge or Blackbaud NetCommunity roles would not receive this notification as the maintenance is not applicable to those products.
For more details on how to adjust the contact roles, please review our previous post on this topic, Managing Contact Roles on Blackbaud.com for Hosting Services Users.
  • You have not opted out of Blackbaud Hosting Services communication in the past.

If a user is marked with the appropriate roles but is still not receiving notifications, it is possible that the user opted out of a Blackbaud mailing at some prior time. Opting out once prevents any email notifications in the future.
Another reason you may not receive a notification is if an email was rejected by your site in the past (for example, being flagged as spam).  If this happens, the email address will no longer receive notifications.

There may be users at your organization who need to have the information contained in our communications who may not need to have a primary contact role. In those instances, we recommend having the primary users forward the emails to any appropriate users at the organization. If possible, we also suggest creating a rule on your email client or server to auto-forward these emails to the any desired recipients.

Also, If you have not already, please add BlackbaudHostingServices@Blackbaud.com to your address book or safe senders list.

If you are a primary contact or hosting administrator and you are not receiving notifications, please contact our Hosting Support team using our Chat feature or create a case on Case Central, choose your product, and select the Blackbaud Application Hosting topic code. We can review your account on our end to ensure you receive the notifications you need.
