Saving Export File Locations in Blackbaud Hosting Services

Published
You may be aware by now that you can manually export reports, mail merges and other documents directly to your local drive, but did you know that you can preset these items to do the work for you?

Setting these items up to directly save to your local drive will not only save time in the export process, but will also save time having to retrieve documents from the Files folder within Blackbaud Hosting Services.

Note: Permanent files such as Crystal Reports, media files, and scheduled queues will still require storage in the hosted Files Folder. - See more at: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/40048

Inside the Hosted application, navigate from the menu bar to Tools, User Options, then select the File Locations tab:

File locations 1

Once in this location, place your cursor in the field that you wish to set a default path for and click the ellipsis button to open the Browse for folder selection window.  In the below example, the Word Processing Documents/Letters, and an ellipsis (three button icon) appears in the far right of the field.

File locations 2

To choose a location on your local drive, select Computer, Local Disk (C:). You may double click this option or click the plus symbol to the left of this option, then choose any custom folder that you have setup on your C drive. If you wish to save to your desktop, this location typically uses the following path:

C:\Users\[local user profile folder]\Desktop
Note: Please check with your local IT for any restrictions to this process.
