Configuring Internet Browsers for Blackbaud Hosting Services

Blackbaud Hosting Services recommends some basic browser configuration settings in order to ensure the most complete functionality while accessing and working within your hosted applications.

After installing Citrix, the following settings will need to be configured for all users in the appropriate browsers:


Internet Explorer 


        Version 8 and above: Configure your datacenter URL in this browser for Trusted Sites and Pop-ups:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. From the menu bar, select Tools, Internet Options, Security, Trusted Sites, Sites.
  3. Add the URL for your datacenter:
    Vancouver: https://appsca.blackbaudondemand.com

Boston:  https://login2.blackbaudhosting.com

California:  https://login1.blackbaudhosting.com

Sydney: https://login4.blackbaudhosting.com

Europe: https://login01.blackbaud.net/Citrix/S01Web/

  1. From the menu bar, select Tools, Internet Options, Privacy tab.
  2. Confirm this is not set to Block All Cookies.
  3. While in the Privacy tab, if Turn on pop-up blocker is marked, click Settings and add your datacenter URL from step 3.
  4. Select Add, Close.

        Version 10 and above: (in addition to configuration for version 8 and above):

  1. Click the Tools option (Gear icon).
  2. Select Compatibility View Settings.
  3. In the textbox, enter blackbaudhosting.com.
  4. Select Add (No wildcard characters are needed).
  5. Select Close to save the changes.
  6. Close and reopen all browser windows.



Firefox

        Version 28 and above:



  1. Open Firefox
  2. From the menu bar select Tools, Options, Security Tab.
    For Mac users:Select Preferences, Options, Security tab.
  3. Across from Warn me when sites try to install add-ons, click the Exceptions button.
  4. Add the URL for your datacenter:
    Vancouver: https://appsca.blackbaudondemand.com

Boston:  https://login2.blackbaudhosting.com

California:  https://login1.blackbaudhosting.com

Sydney: https://login4.blackbaudhosting.com

Europe: https://login01.blackbaud.net/Citrix/S01Web/

  1. Click Allow,OK.
  2. From the menu bar, go to Tools, Options.
  3. Across from Block pop-up windows, select the Exceptions button.
  4. Add the URL for your datacenter.
  5. Click Allow, OK.

        Version 30 and above (in addition to configurations for version 28 and above):



  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Select the Open Menu button (Three horizontal lines beneath the X to close out).
  3. Select Add-ons, Plug-ins.
  4. Click the dropdown menu to the right of Citrix ICA Client and/or Citrix Receiver Plug-in.
  5. Select Always Activate.
  6. If Citrix URL-Redirection Helper Plug-in is present, Always Activate.
  7. Close all browsers and reopen for these changes to apply.


If either browser tries to open the Citrix client itself, attempts to launch a third-party program, or asks to choose or browse to an application to use:



  1. Click on your Start Menu
  2. Choose Default Programs
  3. Choose Associate a file type or protocol with a program
  4. Scroll down in this list of extensions until you see ".ica"
  5. Click on Change Program...
  6. In the new window, click on "Browse..."
  7. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\ICA Client
    Note: On a 32-Bit Operating System instead of Program Files (x86) you will simply see Program Files
  8. Select "wfcrun32" and click open
  9. You will be taken back to the "Open with" window.
  10. Click OK
