BBNC 7.0 Release 2217

BBNC 7.0 Release

Published

We are happy to announce the release of Blackbaud NetCommunity v7.0. It will be deployed to Blackbaud hosted customers over the next few weeks and will be available for self-hosted customers shortly after that.

This release includes several new features -

Fully Responsive Payments Pages using Custom Templates
To provide an optimal check out experience for Blackbaud NetCommunity website users on various devices, you can now upgrade your static Blackbaud secure payment web pages to responsive web pages. You can preview and upgrade each secure payment page individually. After you upgrade Blackbaud secure payment pages from static to responsive, you cannot use static pages again.

NetCommunity currently supports Secure Payments pages where Blackbaud handles payment transactions via their secure and PCI compliant hosting infrastructure. You can also use the direct to payment option while setting up payments pages within Blackbaud NetCommunity. Using the direct to payment option places PCI burden on the application and those of you who own and manage your own NetCommunity infrastructure. With the release of this new feature, you should reconsider Blackbaud secure payments webpages over the direct to payment option, as this will alleviate your burden of PCI compliance and shift it back to Blackbaud.

New direct debit merge field
A new Account Number Masked Stylable merge field is now available. This feature will give clients the flexibility to use one of two account number merge fields: one that will present the account number unmasked and another that will mask the digits. Using this merge field will show the direct debit account number as masked with only the last 4 digits visible. The merge field can also be styled by editing CSS.  Clients can use either merge field to configure confirmation screens or acknowledgment emails for Membership Form and Payment 2.0 parts that accept direct debit transactions.

New “Create Email Message” Option on Main Admin Menu
This enhancement reduces the number of clicks required to create a new email message through the addition of “Create -> New Email Message” option on the main admin menu. Utilizing this option will launch the same workflow currently available through Email > New email message.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 requirement
Blackbaud NetCommunity 7.0 now requires .NET 4.5.2. This enables the application to support Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 protocol for enhanced communication security over the
Internet, which is a new Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) requirement.

Thank you for continued support of NetCommunity and Blackbaud!
