Blackbaud University Day: Meet Your Instructor Joseph!

Hi, my name’s Joe Conley and you may recognize me from Raiser’s Edge classes. Or maybe our Organizational Best Practices workshops. We also could have met in a ResearchPoint or Blackbaud CRM class. Or, most importantly, maybe we met during a Blackbaud Grantmaking class. Why do I say most importantly? Because that’s what I’m teaching on Blackbaud University Day this year at bbcon 2018.
So, why Blackbaud University Day? When I was a Blackbaud client, I remember how being a database manager could feel like being the phantom of the development office—a master of the craft, but lonely and misunderstood, occasionally gliding in with great musical flair to provide a report and then disappearing just as quickly to a reclusive abode. (To be honest, there is something kind of fun about that!)
However, when you’re the DBA, there’s often no one at the organization to bounce ideas off of, to show you a neat trick they learned, or to help you with a particularly difficult task. This is precisely why University Day extends beyond a classroom experience—I’ll facilitate the learning, but the real value comes from the interactions you’ll have with your peers. Together, we’ll ALL share ways to use the software to overcome pain points and better serve our missions. At the risk of sounding like I’m trying to convince you to join me (which I totally am), you will get an experience that you can’t get anywhere else.
