Blackbaud University Day: Meet Your Instructor Amy!
Published
BLACKBAUD UNIVERSITY DAY
INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT | Amy Matthews
Greetings from sunny southern California! My name is Amy Matthews, your friendly Blackbaud Instructor from just south of Los Angeles. You might have joined me in a training class for Raiser’s Edge, Luminate Online, Blackbaud NetCommunity, Education Edge, or for one of our Organizational Best Practices workshops. I hope you’ll join me in person for Blackbaud University Day at bbcon 2018 in early October.
This will actually be my sixth bbcon (second as an actual Blackbaud staff member)! Before I joined the Blackbaud University team here at Blackbaud, I was a Raiser’s Edge database administrator for a local nonprofit in California. The first bbcon I went to was a life-changing experience. Being able to connect with nonprofit professionals, bounce ideas off of other users, and (most importantly for me) learn about the products directly from Blackbaud staff left me on a high I don’t think I’ve ever quite come down from. Now that I’m on the instructor side, I’m incredibly excited to participate in University Day—a day to focus on you (the user) and your needs.
This year, I’ll be leading some amazing sessions to help you make the most of your Blackbaud products:
You can learn more about the sessions I’ll be teaching here, and see the full list of Blackbaud University Day sessions here!

This year, I’ll be leading some amazing sessions to help you make the most of your Blackbaud products:
- Raiser’s Edge: Increasing Efficiency Using Query, Reports, and Mail
Make the most of your communications by segmenting your mailings. Send the right message, to the right audience, at the right time. Then analyze which messages resonated. This course is a must for anyone planning to segment their end-of-year mailing lists.
- Raiser’s Edge: Optimizing Your Database for Raiser’s Edge NXT
Are you thinking of taking the plunge into the wonderful world of Raiser’s Edge NXT? Have you already started looking at your data in the Raiser’s Edge web view and want to fine-tune it? Find out how to make the most of the data in your database—and leave with a plan.
- Raiser’s Edge: Managing Sustaining Gifts
Increase recurring revenue for your organization. We’ll talk about who to target for a sustaining program, how to process the gifts in Raiser’s Edge, and how to keep your program running smoothly. Donor lifetime value increases dramatically for sustaining givers—make sure your database is prepared for recurring success.
- TeamRaiser: Working with Participants
You’ve got TeamRaiser up and running—but now what? Make sure your event participants are fully supported by learning how to handle common issues with registration, donations, and participation information. Don’t miss this course if you have an event coming up!
