BBCON 2020 is Moving to a Global Virtual Gathering!

Published

On October 6-8, bbcon 2020 will be held as a global virtual gathering! This online-only event will unite the social good community for three days of thought leadership and best practices, technology trends and innovations, and peer networking. Our team has been hard at work exploring every option for bbcon 2020 and we’re excited to share our plan with you.

We understand that risks associated with large-scale live events this year remain unknown due to COVID-19, and we also recognize that many organizations face tough budget decisions, especially related to travel and professional development opportunities. We’re committed to bringing you the latest tools and industry trends and facilitating invaluable connections with peers—and we’re committed to doing that safely.

Our team will continue working on the comprehensive details in the weeks to come, including speakers and session breakdowns. Here are a few notes we want to highlight:

Q: Will bbcon 2020 cost less?
A: Yes—and we’re thrilled for the opportunity to offer our most accessible conference yet.

Q: Won’t the virtual format lose some of the excitement?
A: No way! We’ll still bring you can’t-miss speakers, and we’ll move our games and social events online to ensure that bbcon 2020 is just as fun and engaging in this reimagined format.

Q: Will I still be able to network?
A: Absolutely. We will facilitate this cornerstone bbcon experience in creative new ways.

Please check out our FAQ for more information. We will share more information by May 15 and full details on the virtual experience in early summer. In the meantime, please know that we’re working daily to bring you the best bbcon yet!

Hi Chris Geady‍, it's been confirmed...no cap for registrations per organization.
Hi Chris Geady‍ this is actually a good question! I'll take it to the planning team and see what the answer is...I'll be in touch soon.
Good news, especially since we slashed our travel budgets due to COVID-19 already. I'm wondering if there will be any registration cap per organization.
Hi Jenna Anderson‍ we're glad to help our current bbcon attendees and even create more opportunities for those who have never attended bbcon in the past. We have a lot of great content to offer and we want to share it with as many people as we can. Keep me posted on whether or not your leadership decides to register in July. We'd appreciate hearing their feedback.
This is great news. We've never been able to send someone to attend due to budget and time constraints. With it being free and virtual this means our higher ups might be interested in listening to a session or two, which could lead to buy-in, if they recognize the value, for a staff member to actually attend in the future!
Carlene Johnson‍ That's a fun idea! I'll be looking for your bbcon breakfast selection pic!
@Veronica Adams We have updates about hotel information on our FAQ page which you can view at https://www.bbconference.com/2020/FAQ.
A bummer- but also completely understandable!  I'm super bummed that I won't get to see so many people I enjoy, and the swag(!), and the energy that comes from being with everyone. I hope there will still be funny things that happen that end up becoming hashtags: #whynodessert@bbcon .  Maybe we can have a morning session where we all show off our homemade #breakfastcasserole ?
wise decision and I look forward to hearing more after may 15!  (agree with Patti, Heather and others about swag - but would we feel like touching anything anyway  :(
Thank you, Blackbaud!  I feel you guys about the swag withdrawal, though...
I echo all aspects of Patti Hommes‍' comment. <3
I already paid my fee and hotel for Seattle. How do I get this back?

Hi Shelley Kimball‍ that's a great question. Please review our bbcon FAQ page at https://www.bbconference.com/2020/FAQ to get more information on our refund policy. Patti Hommes‍ Lol! I completely understand the swag withdrawal! I guess we'll have to up our swag game for the next in-person bbcon!
While I will miss my bbcon bubble, and will have swag withdrawal, this is the most socially responsible decision to make. I look forward to more details. Oh, and my budget thanks you!!
Is it possible to get a full refund for not being able to attend the conference?
