Sandy Beaches & Your Social Media Strategy

Published

My husband was recently handed a project at work that was quite large in scope, and a little lax in its end goals. At dinner that night, he said they may as well have asked him to count the grains of sand on the beach.

Ever feel like that with your job? Especially when it’s something as all-encompassing as your social media presence?

Social media is a powerful marketing tool, but with that power comes varied responsibilities. Gone are the days of posting photos of your gala on your Facebook page and considering that to be your “social media marketing strategy.”

The content you create and how frequently you post your messages are important factors – and should be part of your overall marketing strategy. And when you consider that there are an ever-growing number of platforms, and each have their own idiosyncrasies and algorithms, it becomes as daunting a task as counting grains of sand, right?

We get it.

Our OBP: Marketing—Social Media workshop can help you sort through it all – no matter what your current social media presence is. Learn about demographics, how they work with each platform, and how to set long-term goals for content and frequency.

Let Blackbaud University get you off on the right foot with your social media strategy, and leave the sand for the sandcastles!

Nice - will share with my coworker.
My organization just started utilizing social media more strategically. I find it to me more interesting for me (since I follow the organization), and I feel more compelled to share the message our marketing person is creating.  Social media can be a great, inexpensive marketing too, but yes, I can be very time consuming it you are not careful.
Thanks for the plug to the training. We just got a new person dedicated to social media and marketing. I will see if she is interested in this course.
