Here are four tips to building a top notch communications plan:

PERSONALIZE IT

Personalize your email communications with the fundraiser’s name, the amount they raised, and include a different impact statement about your nonprofit each week. 

MENTION YOUR MISSION

Afterall, that's why their here!  Add a simple list of donation amounts and their impact.  This provides your fundraisers and donors with a clear picture of the impact they're making.  For example: $50 pays for clean water for a community for one day, $100 provides 100 nutritious meals, or $200 will provide a camp scholarship. Keep your examples mission-focused and very specific!

KEEP YOUR MESSAGE SIMPLE

You've only got a few seconds to to make your voice heard.  View this sample email template that uses a concise message, makes sure to thank the fundraiser, explains in very concrete terms how the funds are supporting the nonprofit’s mission, and gives a specific fundraising tip.

Consider what other communications these individuals are receiving from your organization, and ensure you have the just the right frequency of contact with these supporters - enough to capture their attention while being mindful to not inundate them with messages.
