Product Feature: Donor Cover

In the world of e-commerce transaction fees and service fees are expected - whether an individual is purchasing movie tickets, concert tickets, or simply shopping online.

  



The same holds true for individuals donating online. The good news, is that many of today’s online donors want to ensure that 100% of their donation gets to your nonprofit, and are willing to cover the cost of the transaction fees associated with donating online. In fact, we see 80%-90% of donors opt in to cover the transaction fee when they make a donation. 



Everydayhero’s donor cover feature allows donors to cover the cost of the transaction fees related to their donation.  So, every time someone makes a donation to your nonprofit, they are encouraged to cover the fees. This includes the credit card processing fee and the platform fee combined into one increased donation amount.



On average, we see that our charity customers’ net effective transaction rate drops to 1.9% thanks to the generosity of donors who decide to take advantage of our donor cover feature.  Our experience shows that the majority of donors are happy to cover the transaction fee.  Still, covering the fee is optional and donors have the option to opt out of covering the fee if it doesn’t fit their fancy.
