Raiser's Edge 7.95 - Update on the Customer Technology Preview

We're pleased to provide an update on the Customer Technology Preview for Raiser's Edge 7.95. Over the past month or so, we have engaged with several organizations to help us validate and provide feedback on the new features. It has provided an opportunity for us to ensure the features work correctly and are helpful to our clients. We are planning to conclude this program shortly and assuming all the feedback continues to be highly positive, we will move to an Early Adopter Program phase.

We are also happy to provide a preview of some of the new features we have developed based off client feedback and customer suggestions:

  • Introducing the red checkmarks for phones, emails, and other contact information tabs
  • Creating a user option that will default to a specific tab being selected when opening a record (such as defaulting it to email addresses)
  • Adding a business rule to configure if phones or emails with the same type can be added
  • Allowing for "Comments" to be added for phones, emails, and other contact information
  • Displaying the "Date last changed" field for phones, emails, and other contact information
  • Adding an in-product "Chat with support" button
Several of these items were customer suggested features and present on the User Voice, we are very thankful for everyone's feedback and participation.

As we conclude this phase and complete the assessment of customer feedback and move into the Early Adopter Program phase, we're pleased to begin taking requests from organizations who would like to take advantage of the new Raiser's Edge 7.95 features (please note that at this time, we are beginning with locally installed on premise customers first for this initial phase). Although we cannot accomodate all requests, we will involve as many organizations and possible and requests will be first-come first-served. Please sign up through the link below:

And this is also fixing all of the issues created by the last update, correct? We STILL can't use the Duplicate Constituent Management Tool.
For those of us who have not upgraded to 7.94 because of the issues incurred, can we go from 7.93 to 7.95? And what differences will we see in layout to the Bio1 screen?
Hi Adrienne, Good question. We actually did include customers that were hosted in the Customer Technology Preview, but we are just beginning this particular phase with on premise/locally installed customers first because there is a higher degree of changes for that upgrade, as opposed to 7.94 hosted customers who already have some of the fixes or changes that are included in 7.95. Additionally, there is a different path and set of effort with upgrading hosted customers versus locally installed customers who need to do this within their environment themselves. Our goal is to ensure both groups of customers can adopt the release successfully without concern and therefore we are beginning with customers who are not hosted first. We will soon start a separate phase where we will slowly release this to hosted Raiser's Edge customers in a controlled fashion to ensure users are ready for the changes. I hope this helps!
