This is great information, and I've set up PayPal for our institution, and it is working fine. The problem I'm having is that the initial Online Express form on our website only shows “Credit Card” and “Direct Debit” as payment options. Its not until you click “Credit Card” that you are presented with the option to pay with PayPal. For donors, they may not even realize that PayPal is an accepted payment method with us unless they attempt to donate with a credit card first. Can this be fixed?
Hey Geoffrey! Thank you for your response and we appreciate the feedback.
Today, PayPal is configured in BBMS as a credit card type (see screen shot below); therefore, credit card will need to be selected first for the option of PayPal to appear at checkout.
And you are right - technically PayPal is a “digital payment option” like Apple Pay and the Click-to-Pay button (formerly Visa Checkout and Masterpass). We don’t have any near-term plan to separate digital payment options from credit cards, though it is part of our longer term vision.
