FE7 - Organization is Key to your Organization!

When I look back on our organization I can't believe how far we've come in almost 20 years! From manual books to then Fundware now Financial Edge we continue to refine our processes and procedures. One of the hardest thing for me to organize in Financial Edge are reports and workflows.

As a manager, it's one of my responsibilities to ensure that our processes are as iron-clad as can be.  Minimizing errors and risk are essential.  It didn't take long for me to realize that you need to have clear procedures that you can review periodically to make sure that your employees are following them!

I've been using the Favorites menu in Financial Edge to store our workflows.  I'll make a folder for an item, say A/R Reconciliation. I then add the reports to that folder that need to be ran to accomplish the task.  I'll even number them in their titles so that we remember how to run them.  To date I have 10 folders for processes ranging from Monthly Financial Reports to Audit and they include reports and queries.

This has really saved me time and provided me with quick access to the items I need to get the job done!  I hope you will take a look at the Favorites Menu and try it yourself!
