Here are the latest features in Blackbaud Church Management. Please stay safe and healthy!

MobileMission
For those of you trying out MobileMission, small group leaders can now manage attendance for their groups in the app.

From MobileMission, small group leaders can:

  • Access a list of their small groups with information about each group’s primary meeting and number of participants.

  • Drill into a specific group to view its participants and details about upcoming and past meetings, including the time and location.

  • Send an email or text to their whole group or selected participants using their preferred text or email app.

  • Take attendance after meetings. Attendance entered in MobileMission syncs back to Small groups in Blackbaud Church Management for management and reporting.

  • Receive push notification reminders to take attendance. For more information, see MobileMission Settings.

For more information, see MobileMission.

Note: Push notifications are enabled in Blackbaud Church Management by default. However, to receive them, small group leaders must first go to Small groups in MobileMission. For Android users, push notifications are allowed automatically. iOS users are prompted by the app to allow notifications. If they don’t opt in when prompted, they can opt in later in the Settings area of their mobile device.

Directory
To quickly add people to your church’s directory, such as first-time visitors who complete contact cards, you can now use Add family or one adult from the Directory in Constituents. This option enables you to add one or more adults with or without children. Previously, you selected Add constituent from the Directory and entered people separately.

This new feature is similar to the Add a family option for staffed check-in stations; however, you can’t add children to classes from the Directory. Instead, continue to add them from staffed stations.

Tip: Since you may not have complete contact information for someone when you enter them, Add family or one adult doesn’t require you to enter phone numbers. However, if you add a family with children, you should enter a phone number for each adult because it’s required for check-in.

Note: For security and safety purposes, you can't add children (even older children who use self check-in) without a related adult/chaperone. This ensures your church has emergency contact information for all children.

For more information, see Add a Family.
