NXT email marketing--emails sent to all emails listed on a constituent record

Hello.

I am working on moving from sending emails from Online Express to NXT. Currently, we send emails to all the emails in a constituent's record. I know that NXT uses Lists, and I was wondering if it sends to all emails in a record or just the first one listed.

    @Jane Van Ingen - It defaults to sending to the primary email. However, you can get around this by creating a copy of the email for as many email types that you have in the system and then sending an email to each email type specifically.

    Example of how this looks, everything below “Email marked Primary” is dependent on the active email types in your system.


  • @Austen Brown If an email address is labeled “email,” whether it is marked primary or not, and you choose to send to “email,” does it go to all? (Those marked primary and those not?)

    @Vicki Danklefsen - If a constituent has multiple emails with the same type, I don't know if it goes to just one or all emails on the record with that type. That'd be a good thing to test/talk to support about.

    @Vicki Danklefsen This is what I had heard. Found this documentation in KB 121489

    Answer:

    To send email to a constituent, their record must include a primary email address. If there is no primary email address on the constituent record, NXT will send to the oldest added emailaddress that is not marked DNC, Do Not Email, or Inactive.

    RENXT does not select a default for a specific email type. Email Types are table entries controlled by the Organization. There is no functionality to set one specific type as a default for email marketing.
