Contact Tracing and Advanced Lists
Has everyone seen the new contract tracing stuff in Advanced Lists?
I actually set an Adv. List up for last year much like it. [probably should have shared it. apologies…;-( ]
I think the fact that they needed Adv. Lists for this underscores how important Advanced Lists are for anything complex like this. [the “fixed” aspect of any other lists just wouldn't cut it].
It seems it should be a signal to BB that this area should be made current and, in fact, should be invested in. [e.g. there are whole areas of the db missing and the facility itself has some rough edges]. I'm gonna enter an “idea” to this effect.
Does anyone agree?

You are right on the mark. Reading the release notes for yesterday, I saw the reference to the contact tracing lists. I had missed the announcement of them back in October. So I went to investigate the list template. To be upfront, I have avoided advanced lists like the plague because they are not intuitive to me at all. Looking at the fields, everything made sense, but I was not sure exactly what filter(s) would need to changed, etc. etc. So I went to the Knowledgebase thinking there would be guidance there… crickets.
I opened a support ticket and received guidance from them. I was referred to the October 2020 Release notes that did provide direction. But to your point, there should have been a Knowledgebase article on something as helpful as this. Though I would be much happier with a more intuitive list builder, if this is what we have, make it as useful/user friendly as possible.

@John Ronan , I agree 100%. I love the SKY lists for quick, straightforward reports but the advanced lists are still hugely necessary to pull the complex data (when they don't time out and error on you).

We use both SKY and Advanced lists all the time. I build and give access to Advanced Lists multiple times a week. I can build a list for a Class Dean or Department Head, give them (and only them) access, and they can pull it whenever they need it. We do this for cumulative averages, report card grades, etc. etc. We used the contact tracing lists, which I modified to suit our needs, quite a bit this year as well.

Hi has anyone actually been able to access Virtual Attendance values from the new “Group Contact Tracing” template in advanced lists?
We are really looking to be able to use the API to extract in person vs virtual attendance and this new feature seems to be the only way.
