Survey scrape into WP popup. Options?
Hi, I'm following this KB:
One caveat is that I'm putting the form in a popup. So I need advice on step 9: the NEXTURL.
What would you do? NEXTURL to my thank you page and open on top of the Original Page? Can I code NEXTURL to open in a new tab? Can I code something to say Thank You within the confines of the popup box, then the user closes?
I've seen some other users chat about this from a few years back so I hope there's good intel out there!

@Kelly Bodie Hi! I think in your example, once you hit submit, that modal box will close. So the NEXTURL should be your internal webpage that notes success and then moves them to the next step in your engagement ladder.

Correct. My issue is then I've taken them away from the page they were browsing when the popup appeared. That's why I'm wondering about NEXTURL in a new tab – so their original page stays up. Possible? Other ideas to keep that original page within reach?0 -
@Kelly Bodie The next URL can take you anywhere - been some time since I've played with WordPress but you can probably send the person into another modal. Might depend on what plugin you are using for the popup.
Another possibility would be not to have any nexturl and have a small toast appear when the popup closes.0 -

@Kelly Bodie I'd just add the page you want in the survey itself under step 1.12 → Survey submitted page.

Thanks for all your help so far.
I tested that, but my scraped form code is in a Popup.It seems no matter if I rely on the survey submit settings or NEXTURL, on submit, my thank you page loads over the page my user was originally reading. That's why I think I want my thank you page to load in a new tab.

I agree with our short discussion over on the API thread …that level of technical know-how is overkill for this.

@Kelly Bodie Understood. You might try engaging in the community for the plugin you are using for the popup. There's also some good discussions I found with a quick search about using javascript to open a modal using a direct link. Good luck!

@Kelly Bodie maybe you could add target="_blank” to your form code. I don't have a Wordpress popup + survey to test it at the moment, but it's just a thought.

That's the idea, but it'd have to be an argument attached to the NEXTURL somehow. That's the Link I want to open in _blank. I just don't know how to write that in the same string. That mostly worked! My NEXTURL opened in a new tab. (I'm really surprised at that because I figured as soon as you left the NEXTURL command you were no longer modifying it.)The trade-off is that my popup box doesn't close. I think I'll try to fix that with a time-out cookie. The completed fields appeared in LO, so I know it functions.
