Running master schedule/rollover before end of current school year?

This is our first full school year with Blackbaud. With our past database we would run the master scheduler during the spring semester so that we could troubleshoot issues with faculty/students while they're still on campus (in addition to cutting down some of the needed work over the summer). We have received information telling us that we need to wait until our current school year has ended before running the master scheduler and rolling over academics, etc. I can't imagine we are the only school wanting to run our schedule before the current school year has ended. Is there a work around? Or something we are missing? Thanks!

  • @Hannah Reid You can do it so long as you have all of your schedule parameters set and are okay manually doing a lot of what the system can do after a master rollover.

  • @Hannah Reid We do our Master Rollover in February and begin building our schedule in March. We've never had an issue with this approach.

  • @Hannah Reid Agreed with the others - you can run the rollover anytime you want. You'll just be copying whatever the data is at that point so too early might leave some things out - but during the spring semester works great. Some people typically list it as part of the “year-end procedures” but the practicalities of school operations spread those procedures over many months.
