NEW! Fund Management in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT® Web View (Global)

Published

As part of our work toward a Total Web Solution by the end of 2025, we are releasing limited fund management functionality to Raiser’s Edge NXT web view.

The initial release of this feature includes basic fund management operations within Raiser’s Edge NXT web view. You can now view comprehensive fund lists, add a new fund, and edit existing funds.

How do I access fund management in Raiser’s Edge NXT web view?

To access, navigate to the Fundraising menu and select Funds. From here, you can choose to display specific funds by toggling between lists using the drop-down search feature. You can also filter for active funds by checking the appropriate box next to the search tool. Like other list functionalities, you can customize the display order of your fund information by moving columns. For a more targeted search, enter the fund ID or description to narrow down your search results.

Changes that are made to Raiser's Edge NXT fund management will not reflect in Financial Edge NXT. These fund management features are currently limited and only impact your Raiser's Edge NXT database, marking the first phase of ongoing development. By releasing features incrementally, we can ensure a robust and viable set of tools, with additional capabilities added over time, as they are developed.

In the coming months, additional interface features will be released, further strengthening interactivity between Raiser’s Edge NXT and Financial Edge NXT. Stay informed about these releases by following the Raiser’s Edge NXT Community.

We have some users who can't see Fund Management, but there isn't an obvious reason why. Is visibility of Fund Management at all tied to permissions?

This appears to be fixed and working properly now. Very glad this has finally come to web view. When will fund relationships be visible? That is a mission-critical piece of info at our organization, and we will not promote the use of web view to the bulk of our staff until fund relationships are visible there.

@Devan Caton this was the first step of many more to come to continue the RENXT/FENXT integration that will allow us to develop features through posting. We will be completing funds, relationships, FENXT connections and other capabilities once the posting features are complete. Other features to come are add/edit general fund list, FENXT/RENXT posting, RENXT/FENXT configuration, finish funds, appeals and campaigns.

One more question! Because of how the Fund area works, if I click on a Fund to view the details, I'm taken to the Fund area and have to leave the Fund list. This means that if I'm trying to quickly check on some details for multiple funds that I have to continually start from scratch. In FE webview and in other parts of RE webview, I can get around this by right-clicking on the hyperlink and selecting “open in new window”. When I tried to do this in Funds, I get a new blank tab that has “about:blank#blocked” in the url. Is this a bug? It would make navigation so much smoother if I can simply open the funds I want to see in a new browser tab or window.

@Maya Rosman would you be able to report this? This does sound odd and if it's a bug, we can work on it for you.

I'm definitely interested in watching to this to see how this progresses with integration with FENXT.

Am I correct in interpreting this: “Changes that are made to Raiser's Edge NXT fund management will not reflect in Financial Edge NXT” to mean that if we are integrated between RE and FE that we should only be editing funds in database view so that information will sync between systems and should only use the RE webview Fund area to view information?

Additionally, we use fund relationships extremely heavily for many of our key processes and tracking purposes. Will a Relationships tile be added to the Fund page? I understand that this is a first roll-out, but I want to emphasize how important this data point is to us (and I assume to others). Without it, our operations will be severely hampered once RE moves to a total web solution.

I appreciate any feedback you can provide on these questions!

@Maya Rosman thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate your insight and take it to heart. You are correct, integration was not part of this functional release, but it is on the roadmap. We will be completing funds, relationships, FENXT connections and other capabilities once the posting features are complete. Other features to come are add/edit general fund list, FENXT/RENXT posting, RENXT/FENXT configuration, finish funds, appeals and campaigns.

This is great, and I can see all my funds. But where is the relationship tile??? We also need to be able to adjust filters and columns, not just the search bar.

@Paula Ammirato relationships was not part of this functional release however, it is on the roadmap along with add/edit general fund list, FENXT/RENXT posting, RENXT/FENXT configuration, finish funds, appeals and campaigns.

Add us to the list of people who can't actually see their funds.

Will fund relationships be included as this is built out?

@Kelly Hogan this should be working now. Also, relationships is on the roadmap along with add/edit general fund list, FENXT/RENXT posting, RENXT/FENXT configuration, finish funds, appeals and campaigns.
