Blackbaud Employees Observe PRIDE Month

Published
Hi Blackbaud Community,

June is PRIDE Month and we’re excited to be recognizing this observance with our employees across the globe.

PRIDE Month honors the leaders, activists, and allies who rallied in solidarity for the acceptance of gay rights. It's also about continuing the conversation to embrace marginalized identities and voices across the LGBTQIA+ community and demonstrating humanity for one another regardless of a person’s sexual orientation and gender identity.

At Blackbaud, we observe PRIDE Month because we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy their lives without fear or prejudice. To us, this means making sure our employees feel supported in every way possible by providing:
  • A positive work environment where they can thrive professionally while being themselves at work every day.
  • An inclusive culture that encourages diversity among our employees so everyone feels like they belong and are part of something larger than themselves.

We’ll be observing all month long with an exciting list of employee-led activities focused on education, volunteering, and fun content for all employees. A few of these activities include:
  • Partnering with Goodera on a volunteer activity where employees will create fact cards on the lives of influential LGBTQIA+ figures to inspire young readers.
  • A PRIDE Hero’s Week, focused on highlighting pioneers of the gay rights movement.
  • A virtual Color Week will give employees the chance to wear a color of the PRIDE flag each day of the week and learn more about what that color represents in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Is your organization recognizing PRIDE this month or during another time of the year? If so, tell us what you’re doing! Photos are welcomed.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I also wanted to add in details about some other events we have going on this month:

Live Drag Make-up Tutorial with Scriven Bernard
Back by popular demand, our own fabulous Scriven Bernard will be doing a live drag makeup tutorial! This time he’s promised to show us some contouring tricks. If you’ve never attended this event, you’re in for a real treat!

Panel Discussion: Drag Queens – It’s Art!
Hear from Drag performers who share the history and importance of the drag art form. Panelists include: Pat Patterson, Adam Dubinsky, and Scriven Bernard

Pride Bingo Take this time to unwind and relax with a fun game of BINGO! Employees will virtually participate in a Pride-themed round of bingo based on Pride symbols, personalities, flags, landmark moments in history, and more. Continue playing the game to discover interesting facts about the queer community.

For Pride Month, we've partnered with the Ruth Ellis Center which utilizes trauma-informed services for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, particularly folks of color, who are experiencing additional barriers to health and well-being. Our 2023 Pride Month apparel collection has launched as approved staff uniforms for purchase, one selection is pictured below. Proceeds from this collection benefit both our organizations.

@Heather Pauli I agree with @Nichols Condon this is awesome! Love that's been accepted as part of approved staff uniforms!

Heather, this is amazing! Thank you for sharing!
