Fundamentals Certification

Ready to take the first step in proving your Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT or Raiser’s Edge product knowledge? Start the process to become Blackbaud Fundamentals certified in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT. The recommended steps to achieve product-specific certification is to complete the series of courses in the Fundamentals Learning Path, and then take the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT Fundamentals Exam.

If you have previously taken the Fundamentals courses, or feel you have the necessary product skills and knowledge, you may proceed to the exam. Students who pass with an 80% score or better are Fundamentals certified. Fundamentals certification is a great milestone for every Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT user. Professional Certification

Are you ready to take the next step? Blackbaud University provides a secondary level of certification for Raiser’s Edge NXT users. This Professional level of certification indicates a broader and deeper knowledge set. Eligibility for Professional certification requires Fundamentals certification. Students who pass with an 80% score or better are certified at the Professional level.

Before attempting the Professional exam, we suggest being comfortable with the following topics. To learn more about a topic or brush up on your skills, take the recommended courses for that topic.

No Expiration

Every certification identifies the year it was achieved. There is no expiration on a certification, but the year gives context to when the title was achieved. We encourage students to periodically renew certification in order to reflect updates in the product platforms.

No Course Requirement

We want you to pass your certification examination and become Blackbaud Certified®; we therefore recommend specific courses be taken before attempting certification. However, if you feel you possess skills and knowledge strong enough to pass an exam, we encourage you to take the exam without taking the recommended courses.

Is the Raiser's Edge Professional Certification (not the NXT one) no longer available? If there isn't one planned for 2021 could the 2020 one be made available?

Hi Elliot OSullivan! That is correct- there is no longer a Raiser's Edge Pro Certification. It has been replaced with the Raiser's Edge NXT Professional Certification to reflect the evolution of the product. The change is evolutionary rather than revolutionary though- the only web view course substitution is the web view advanced constituents course. The other recommended courses to prepare are the same as before, so if you got the RE Pro Cert, you would already be mostly prepared!

I see the top reasons to certify are 1) the pre-req courses could help you find out if you could do things differently to save a lot of time and effort, 2) the Fundamentals certification unlocks more advanced courseware, and 3) it's nice resume bling (we have a Jobs section of the Community too)

Go to Blackbaud U Campus and look under the Fundamentals learning-the path for Fundamental Certification. You can register for the coursework to get ready for the exam or you can go ahead and take the exam. You must have the Fundamentals certification before you can go ahead and take and receive the Professional Certification. I am navigating around myself ?
