In this role you will be responsible for:
- The Development Associate Data Management is responsible for implementing and managing all data plans associated with the Raiser's Edge Development Database, including exercising independent judgment and analysis to make informed and strategic decisions on coding and entry of all information related to gifts, pledges, biographical additions and updates, event registrations, and list acquisition coding plans received both in the Development Office and online through advance.einstein.edu as well as maintaining the data integrity and health of the Raiser's Edge system.
- Additionally, the Development Associate Data Management assists with additional data projects as needed.
- The Development Associate Data Management reports directly to the Associate Manager, Data & Gift Management under the ultimate supervision of the Senior Director Development Operations & Systems Management.
- Responsible for the analysis and coding decisions related to all EHN, EMCM and LuminateOnline gifts received, ensuring that proper accounting and IRS principles and standards are followed relative to gift processing procedures, to determine the gift's proper donor recognition name(s), tax credit, purpose, dates, accounts, tributes, benefits, addresses, etc. These decisions directly impact how the Office of Development's Financial Performance is accounted for, tracked and ultimately reported to the Network's President & CEO, Campaign Cabinet and the Development Committee of the Einstein Board
- Accountable for the accurate entry of all gift, biographical, geographical, relationship and tribute information into the Raiser's Edge database based on the decisions made during the step listed immediately above
- Responsible for the processing and security of all credit card transactions utilizing payment services within The Raiser's Edge, ensuring that all identifiable credit card information is properly handled, encrypted and disposed of following the approved policies
- Manage the mail merge templates and generation of all donor acknowledgement letters and honor/memorial cards from daily gift entry batches, utilizing software tools such as LexisNexis to validate accuracy of donor information and securing appropriate signatures
- Responsible for maintaining a structure within the database to effectively identify specific segments of appeals and campaigns in order to allow for their proper analysis
- Responsible for online contribution reporting, financial reconciliation and management of the security and encryption of donor's personal credit cards, employee and physician payroll deduction requests, securing and reconciling all reports pertaining to those donations and donations made to Einstein through the United Way and online donations via specific website access to accurately alert finance which accounts should receive the EFT distributions as well as managing any credit card disputes made against Einstein for charitable donations
- Implement all data entry projects within the Raiser's Edge including monthly employee lists, customized personal mailing lists, purchased lists and department and alumni lists
- Primary liaison for all donors wishing to make a gift to Einstein and the primary contact for credit card disputes and questions
- Assist with all development office events as needed, including event coding, registration check-in and responsible for financial reconciliation
- Other duties as assigned
- College degree or related work experience
- One year experience working with development software (Raiser's Edge strongly preferred, but others such as Banner, Millennium, DonorPerfect etc. will be considered)
- Must possess excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of IRS obligations regarding charitable giving a plus
- Must be able to use most primary office software packages, particularly MS Excel and Word, and PaperSave experience a plus
- Must be a proactive independent thinker who can organize workload, take initiative, resolve problems, and follow through on projects to ensure that goals are met in a timely manner.
