BB P2P by Just Giving vs Just Giving

Can anyone explain the difference between Blackbauds P2P, powered by Just Giving and JustGiving?


It has been very confusing to me when researching about Blackbauds Just Giving platform. I keep coming up with websites that look like they are not from Blackbaud. Is Just Giving still a viable company? Is Blackbaud P2P separate only so the gifts can be processed through BBMS? It would be nice to know.

Thank you for writing to asking about Blackbaud Peer-to-Peer Fundraising™, powered by JustGiving™ . Blackbaud Peer to Peer powered by JustGiving (BBP2P) is the version of JustGiving that is available to all charities and individuals in the US. Meanwhile, JustGiving™ is the version available to charities and individuals in the UK. Either way, the software has the same purpose and functionality: to help nonprofits manage and launch peer to peer fundraising campaigns, crowdfunding, etc while also allowing consumers (fundraisers and donors) to have the opportunity to support the organizations they love.

In the US, some charities choose to have Blackbaud Peer to Peer powered by JustGiving process through BBMS for ease of reporting and integration with their CRMs (eTapestry or RENXT.) JustGiving, in both instances, has maintained its original branding (pink, purple, bright colors) and anyone can use the JustGiving platform for crowdfunding, charity fundraising, etc.

Jackie Zimmerman‍ One more quick question....


In the webinar someone asked a question about which order they should set up the accounts,  Re connection or JG campaign page.  

The answer was to do the Just Giving Campaign page first, or the gifts wouldn't automatically flow into BBMS.


Question:  what if it takes a while before you get a campaign set up?  What will happen to the funds that come in before you get a campaign set up?

Sorry if this thread has pinged your email twice now. I lost track of the thread. Thank you for asking - questions are always welcome! 


The recommendation is to set the Raiser's Edge NXT -JustGiving Integration. Then build the JustGiving campaigns. This way if someone does make their way to JustGiving.com and make a donation to your organization you will see the donation information in RENXT. Additionally, the JustGiving integration works via BBMS, so if someone makes a donation before campaigns are built on JustGiving, your money will be disbursed based on the preferences set in BBMS. In short turn on the RENXTJG integration to ensure no missed donations. Candy Reichert‍ as long as you set up the integration, all donations or fundraising pages will come over to RENXT. While we recommend creating campaigns for specific fundraising purposes (like #GivingTuesday, for example), if individuals find your profile on JustGiving and make a donation or create a page, that will all come over via your default config settings. You can rock and roll!

It has been my experience that there is no notification unless it is linked to an individual fundraiser's page. Please, someone, correct me if I'm wrong. We had a successful #GivingTuesdayNow ($26K) with Blackbaud Peer-to-Peer Fundraising™, powered by JustGiving™, and I had to make it a habit to check NXT periodically throughout the day. I now make it a habit to check it every morning. I had a support case open for quite some time with a previous campaign and it was never resolved.

Patti, you are correct there is not an email notification for donations. I like your suggestion to check RENXT regularly for donations.
