Music makes my world better

I find I'm listening to music while working more than usual. Yes, that's because I'm working from home currently. I woke up with one of my favorite songs in my head, "DLZ" by TV on the Radio- one of my favorite and (imo) a very underrated band. I saw them in concert last summer and they were mesmerizing.

I volunteer with Head Count- a non-partisan organization that gets people registered to vote. One of our best places to get people registered is concerts. That leads to my question just for fun: what is the best concert you've been to and why?

As much as I loved the TV on the Radio show, my favorite was last fall I got to see my favorite band, Missio, here in Austin, where they started. :) AND I sprung for the meet & greet, and so glad I did- they are the nicest guys. Here's one of the pics from that (with me wearing a shirt with a pic of another of my favorite all-time musician- Henry Rollins).

Tell me about yours!

My first concert was GREAT. I was about 18 and I saw my favourite band, AFI, at the Astoria in London. The tickets were Nightmare Before Christmas themed, with red foil embossed onto purple sugar paper - because the gig was billed as "Nightmare After Christmas" being in early January. I had the best time - squished up front in the mosh pit, the place too warm and heaving with other fans.

    Best. Time. Ever.

Even the way the walls on the staircase up to the exit were slimy with condensed sweat couldn't take away from it.

That was nearly 20 years ago!! And sure, I've been to a lot of really great concerts since - I saw Bedouin Soundclash last August and they were incredible - but that was the first and super memorable.
