Job Title: Director of Donor Engagement

Hours: Full time

Description:  The Director of Donor Engagement is a member of the stewardship and development team and is responsible for the donor stewardship and communication efforts in addition to fundraising events. In collaboration with the entire Office of Stewardship and Development, this role will assist in executing the strategic plan and achieving the goals of the department. This position is critical to the success of development efforts, in building relationships with donors, parishioners, tracking donor relation activities, and measuring impact of such work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead enhanced digital giving strategies. Including but not limited to: a focus on new avenues for increasing participation, engaging new and younger donors through e-campaigns, and increasing average gift amounts.
  • Develop and execute new avenues for new online giving acquisition, particularly through digital channels including social media and e-campaigns. 
  • Leads the planning and execution of annual and periodic special events, including the annual Celebrating Catholic Education Breakfast and Fore the Kids golf outing. Oversee volunteer event committee which includes meeting with committee leadership and attending planning sessions as necessary to successfully execute the event.
  • Manage Donor Communications Manager to achieve timely, effective donor impact reports, development collateral, and effective event support.
  • Collaborates with members of the front-line fundraising team on projects where there is overlap, including but not limited to managing the coordination of donor impact reports and communications.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in development, marketing, communications, or event planning
  • Project coordination/management experience
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including ability to manage complex responsibilities
  • An empathy with the ethos of the Catholic Church
  • Ability to work effectively with clergy, religious, lay staff and volunteers
  • Affinity with the overall mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution of higher education in marketing, communications or related field of study
