What counts as goods and services for a gala?

Hi,

I've tried to do some research to figure out what actually qualifies as goods and services for our gala events (and other events too) but everything I'm seeing is very vague. 


I know that food and gifts would count, but what about venue rental fees, decor, etc?

Are you in the US? Other things may apply elsewhere.


I'm a bit confused, goods of food or gifts would be in my mind for those attending. Rental fees are a benefit/service for the org paying them - have space/venue. That doesn't factor in to a gala attendee benefits IMO.
