Data/Gift entry?  Just a thought. I know I had that as 'other' in previous position. And some org are large enough to have positions just focused on that role.

I don't see anything that is Campaign specific. I'd also add Development Operations, it's more of a catch all than some of the specific and focused ones here.

I'm a Manager of Data and Analytics - not sure if that's a common one though!
  • Donor Database Manager

Technological Fundraiser (stealing from Bill Connors‍)

  • Definitely a data/gift manager position as well as Advancement Services Management for those of us that manage more than just the database.
  • Network/Database Administrator
  • My title is Development Director of Operations and I am the data RE admin   I also assist the the whole development team to ensure they have what they need to do their job as well and are following the IRS regulations as it pertains to gifts.  I also do event management logistics as needed
  • Bookkeeper

    Student Accounts Manager

In quite a few smaller schools, people are wearing more than one hat.  Officially I am the Bookkeeper, but general reference purposes I am the Student Accounts Manager.

Maybe we need to clarify the difference between "job roles" and "job title."  Most titles do not define job role. I had impression original post was asking about job roles, not job titles.
  • I do think that Data Analyst is a role not included here. Someone has to pull the mailing lists, assign demographics, coordinate equal test segments, identify donor profiling, calculate and assign RFM's, and analyze all of the returning variables to determine appeal performance and advise marketing strategy. None of these activities are well captured in the above labels.

Constituent Management and Gift Management should cover the gift entry and data entry. And I agree with JoAnn, these basically reflect roles, not titles - so a person would likely identify with more than one role in the course of their job.
  • Information Services associate/manager.

They're not quite IT, but specialize in developing and organizing queries, and studying data from current events. They also organize and develop reports on the giving history of donors and performance records for events.

Most, if not all of us, regardless or our title, have multiples of the rolls included in Crystal Bruce‍'s list. My title is Development Manager (which I dislike, because my job is so much more than that) and includes 10 or more of the roles listed above, as well as Stewardship Management, Website Management, etc. I echo what Bill Connors‍ and Sunshine Watson‍ said!
  • When we are asked to choose our role, we should be allowed to select multiple answers. As many have replied, we wear many hats and nothing encompasses all that we do. I would say one role that's missing here is stewardship.
  • My actual title is Project Specialist (was Fiscal Support Analyst) but I do all the journal entries and quarterly reports for board meetings. So my title and actual job really don't match.

I'm a " Development Data Manger," but I've seen "Philanthropy Systems Manager" at another nonprofit that I think that title is more apt--it's not just the data, but the whole structure behind and ahead of the data.

I agree that being able to select multiple roles is really important since we all have a variety of hats we wear.

  • Social Media Management and I think you are missing Office Admin
