In memoriam donation notifications - anyone have sample text?

Hi there! We had someone donate in memory of a friend's wife. They requested that we send a note to their friend to notify them about the contribution made in memory of the deceased. I'm a little new to the relationship-building side of things on the development end, so I wanted to ask if anyone had any sample text to recommend. I'm not sure how detailed the note should be and could certainly use the help.

Ours are something along the line of:


We are honored to tell you that we have received a donation in memory of your spouse Jane Doe.  

This gift to the ABC fund will provide XYZ / make a difference in the lives of XYZ / provides a lasting legacy / (Essentially same ideas in thank you for a gift to that fund)

This gift was received from -- name and address. (Our policy is not to include amount.)

We so appreciate being able to share in the memory of your loved one in this way.


Fairly brief: received gift, what the money will be used for, who gave it.

We send Tribute Cards they are note cards with our logo on the front and we print on the inside   changing wording as needed  honor, birthday, wedding, memorial etc...  Never include the amount of the gift

We are honored to accept this contribution of $x   in memory of z, and want you to know that it will be put to work, providing resources and support for our (Name of Program) program.
This letter will confirm that First Congregational Church of Akron is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization as described in section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code, and that any and all donations will be recognized and are tax deductible.
On behalf of our membership, thank you again for your support.

we have a few different variations, but this is our regular tribute notification, we have both e-cards and regular cards depending on what the donor wants sent:

Dear [NAME],
A thoughtful gift in memory of [NAME] been made to Ecojustice by [DONOR NAME]
DONOR MESSAGE
This gift will help us to continue to lead the legal fight for a brighter environmental future.
Our deepest sympathies from all of us at Ecojustice.
