Conditional versus Flexible Application

Hi! We have always used Award Management for current students. We now want to use it for our incoming freshman student scholarships. Should I use a flexible or conditional application for them? If I created a flexible one, could I create a conditional one that they could see as a "recommended" opportunity when they complete their flexible application? Has anyone else done something like this? Thanks!

It's important to remember that your incoming freshmen will have to have an NECC email address and UID before they can apply either through Conditional or a Flex App.


Flex Apps do not use the same workflow that General and Conditional Applications use, an applicant will not land on the Recommended Opportunities page after submitting a Flex App. Think of a Flex App as a stand-alone application - it is not associated with any General, Conditional, Apply-To or Automatch opportunity. An applicant does not need to submit a General Application in order to apply For a Flexible Application. Most institutions use Flex Apps for their emergency grants or other grants.


Because you probably have a lot of scholarships for incoming freshmen, you would need to purchase more Flex Apps if you go that route. If you decide to  use a Conditional Application you may need to rework your General Application but if most of your new freshmen opportunities are Automatch you probably don't need a conditional application anyway.
