Development Operations Coordinator at MDI Biological Laboratory

The MDI Biological Laboratory seeks a highly detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to serve as critical support for its Development and Public Affairs Department. The Development Operations Coordinator is primarily responsible for entering, acknowledging and maintaining accurate records for all donor gifts, pledges and engagement as well as generating monthly financial reporting from the donor information system (Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge). The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to learn and comprehend a complex relational database and the discipline to implement highly detailed data management policies and procedures. The Operations Coordinator also serves a central role in supporting donor communications and outreach activities by coordinating mailings and providing event support.

Required qualifications include demonstrated experience working with a relational database system; proficiency in MS Word and Excel, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, strong organizational skills and ability to work independently without direct supervision, highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis, strong interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to maintain the highest possible standards of donor confidentiality, and the ability to be flexible and work cooperatively within a small but highly integrated team.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or other donor management system, a robust knowledge of fundraising, experience working in a non-profit setting, familiarity with desktop publishing software such as Adobe Creative Suite.

This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with excellent benefits. Based on scheduling needs, there is some opportunity to work remotely, though only for Maine residents.
