Are you frustrated that the cardholder name doesn't come through in your gifts from JustGiving?

  • You can see the cardholder name in the BBMS transaction details. Does that not help?

Cameron Alzubi‍ - It would aid greatly in being able to match donations to BBMS for reconciling. The name entered onto the form is not always the same name of the person using their card.
  • I am frustrated with JustGiving, PERIOD. Certainly not a smooth transaction with RE. Instead of constantly seeing how many products they can push out, Blackbaud should focus on making their products good to go from the release.
  • Ah, yes. I use the BBMS transaction ID (even though it's very long, but is easy to use with VLook Up)

What's more frustrating is not being able to see the donation reports in real time... it's like you have to wait almost 24 hours to be able to get a 'current' list.
  • Yes! It's so annoying that we have to download TWO reports - one from JustGiving and one from the pay portal to get just the one report. Please simplify this for us!

  • With this gift that I was trying to match yesterday, I still have nothing that ties the supposed donor name with the cardholder name that shows up on the BBMS report. I can't find anything, anywhere, no transaction ID or anything. The email names don't even match. The only thing that makes me even consider that they're the same person, the donor name on the gift and the name on the BBMS report, is that they're the same amount. Because of JustGiving's lag in processing late day donations, they're not even the same date. It's a complete guess.

Heather MacKenzie‍ - The time reflected through JG is GMT. Depending on where you are in the US, it is a difference of 5-8 hours. Maybe you can match them by computing the difference between GMT and your own timezone for BBMS.
  • Yes, totally agree on the 24 hour thing. Seems very bizarre to not be able to have to-the-time-of-download donation report available.
  • The cardholder name goes into the Card Name field on the gift record in RE. I just include this field as output on my reconciliation report for accounting so that if the donor name doesn't match what they have, they can check the cardholder name column.

Yes, I have seen this, and do know this, but thank you for putting it out here too! In my particular example, it was just another piece of information that didn't match. Nothing matched, the date, the name, the cardholder name I couldn't tie to, the email address on the "donor' record had no reference in it to the name on the BBMS report, and then I had no address for the name on the BBMS report, so I couldn't match them that way.

Hi Naomi OConnor‍, this doesn't actually happen with gifts through JustGiving. When I view those gifts, that field is blank.
