Renewals

How many users have set up opportunities as renewals from year to year? We did not from the beginning, and are wondering if it's worth it given our budgeting system. This seems like a lot of work to have to have to start from scratch with renewals rather than just treating each year's opportunity independently.

Following. We're curious about this as well. Currently using individual opportunities for each year. Our training on renewals seemed like it would be more work than force-matching renewing students to their respective opportunities each year.

We did not use the Renewal Opportunities upon implementing the system, but have since added them. I find them useful as a system admin and so far most of the Opportunity Admins I have talked to about it liked the renewal opportunities. They do take a little bit of extra time to set up, but they allow you to have a qualification or question set to look off of when reviewing their eligibility for the next year without the students having to apply and without you taking any time to force-apply them either. It also gives new awarding options (Deferred, Cancelled, & Final Disbursement) that help make the following year's renewal opportunity more specific. It also makes mass awarding easier for our Opportunity Admins. I would highly recommend it.
