Importing Admissions Application Data

We are looking to import some information from the admissions application into BAM (i.e. essay responses, activities, honors, etc.). Does anyone currently import this type of information? If so, what type of application set up do you have for continuing students who may be applying for a scholarship for the first time?

I'm glad I saw your post. We do not currently import any information from Admissions applications but that sounds like a very useful way to help make more applications automatch for freshman. I would assume the import field title would need to clearly state that it is incoming student or high school involvement specifically for reviewers. Our current General Application is only used for cycle management and release of information (though we may ask for references next year). The first question is a set (Short Answer & date) considered their online signature and understanding that information will be pulled from Banner and given to scholarship admins, reviewers, and donors in some cases for only scholarship purposes. The second question is a checkbox answer, that they understand their scholarships will first pay to the university to pay any balance before resulting in any refund, that other aid may be adjusted, etc. etc. The third is the text feature. We ask they enter their phone number ONLY if they would like to opt in, so it is optional. And that's it! Everything else is either imported or asked from them in the opportunity application.

Similar to Victor, we are importing admissions data from Banner to BAM through our nightly import process, including admissions reviewer scores. However, we are not importing essays. I believe the essay reviewer scores are enough for many of our department scholarship admins.

We are starting a holistic approach to admissions and scholarships through three short answer questions since we are now test optional. We don't currently import the responses but we will import the reviewer scores from the admissions side. We are asking these questions on the scholarship application for continuing students.
