Summary of Responsibilities: The Development Coordinator / Annual & Digital Giving reports to the Director of Major Gifts and is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing annual direct marketing giving strategies that integrate and coordinate various solicitation methods (mail, online, website, social media) for optimum revenue results to generate funding and resources to support Forgotten Harvest operations. This position will also work closely with the Marketing and Communications Department and the Donor Relations Manager.

Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Uphold Mission, Vision, and Values of Forgotten Harvest
  • Attend all required meetings
  • Execute elements of the annual fundraising plan pertaining to direct mail and digital fundraising
  • Manage direct mail process timeline including appeals and stewardship pieces such as newsletters
  • Manage vendor relationships related to appeal printing and coordinate pulls of mail house lists with Donor Relations Manager
  • Collaborate with the development team on themes and content of annual appeal pieces and coordinate annual giving activities to build and strengthen the “individual giving pipeline” that leads annual donors to larger gifts or corporate partnerships
  • Collaborate with the development team to continuously review segmentation of donors by giving amount, frequency, and communication preference
  • Primary contact to provide files and reports to direct mail vendors
  • Manage and monitor ongoing reporting and evaluation of direct mail results
  • Develop process to maintain records and verify eligible gifts to obtain matching gifts
  • Utilize the fundraising software, Raiser’s Edge, to create, update, and maintain donor records and activities
  • Organize, manage, and grow fundraising revenue through direct mail appeals and online, web-based giving appeals
  • Collaborate with marketing and outside sources to plan digital marketing efforts that support appeals and donor stewardship
  • Collaborate and prepare updated personalized acknowledgment letters for Donor Relations when needed
  • Provide support for data entry or donor reports during times of heavy donation volume
  • Assist with donor cultivation events, follow up and on-going engagement, and other duties as assigned
  • Work closely with Development Team to ensure coordination of solicitation activities.
  • Participate in fundraising events and activities for the organization as assigned.
  • Promote a culture of stewardship across donor groups and the overall organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5+ years plus experience in annual giving and fundraising activities
  • Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office Suite and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT including working experience with query, export, and reporting functions.
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrated passion for fundraising
  • Some work requires non-business hour activities including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record as determined by FH insurance company, and valid personal auto insurance.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • General office working conditions
  • Positioned at desk/office approximately 85% of working time
  • Occasional travel to meetings, appointments, other FH locations, etc.
  • Occasional overtime hours
  • No unusual physical exertion
