I've only ever been to one “Live” BBCon, and this will be my second “Virtual." Either way, I always leave BBCon with at least one idea that makes my work day a bit smoother, a bit easier! I'll never forget a 2015 class on queries and exports and the entire room was floored that you could change the column header in the output - the instructor was also shocked that none of us knew that little fact. And every time I've used that for the past six years, I've thought of that class!

BBCon is the highlight of my working year. This will be my 7th BBCon! I find that taking a step back from the detail of my normal workday, being in learning mode, and thinking about data and databases means I usually get ideas to solve problems or make improvements to systems, even if they are not directly related to what the spearker is saying. I get great tips that help me and my colleagues. I am inspired and energised by the keynote speakers. And at my first BBCon I learned that with a small change we could continue to process regular gifts on expired credit cards - that has generated well over a million dollars for that charity since.
