Position Summary:

Directs and leads projects and initiatives to design and improve business processes to ensure the maximum effectiveness of JA Areas with an emphasis on processes related to new or improved enterprise level technologies. Mines and analyzes complex data sets using advanced methods for use in data driven decision making. Confers with the Senior Vice President of Business Improvement and other members of leadership to develop enterprise solution strategies.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Oversees the adoption of new strategic technologies, business process management, software development, application testing, system implementation, user support, and user-adoption training to meet changing business needs.

Performs research, analysis, and modeling of organization data leveraging artificial intelligence methods to identify opportunities to improve operations or answer business related questions.

Oversees data analysis and reporting efforts for the organization around DEI, learning experiences student impact, and fundraising.

Leads strategies and projects designed to improve overall operational effectiveness.

Ensures software development methods meet business requirements as specified by users through industry standard system application testing methodologies.

Gathers business requirements from users to ensure technology solutions meet project requirements.

Directs efforts to create user adoption assets including JA Area communications, change management support to JA Areas for new technologies, and business process updates.

Serves as a communication liaison between JA Areas and JA National Office on business process projects.

Manages staff in the areas of business analysis, software development, project management, applications testing, and applications support.

Negotiates or approves contracts with software partners and external partners.

Promotes the organization’s vision, mission, and opportunities with internal and external contributors.

Specifications/Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

Required:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related engineering discipline. Equivalent education/experience may be substituted for education requirement.

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in managing business operations, leading technology information areas, or similarly related experience. Equivalent education may be substituted for experience requirement.

Demonstrated experience with Blackbaud CRM system.

Demonstrated experience in data analysis and modeling.

Proven background and experience in I/T software design, business process management, project management, software application implementation, and strong technical background.

Experience in information technology with emphasis on determining specifications to support business requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects related to organizational improvement and innovation, including organizational and planning skills.

Strong leadership/management skills with both direct reports and cross-functional team.

Strong communication, interpersonal, process analysis, and software design skills.

Ability to travel (approximately 10%) including some weekends.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Desired:

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Five (5) years of JA leadership experience.
