SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Development Services Coordinator is a member of the Development Team which is responsible for strategically driving growth of donated revenue for operations, capital building programs and the endowment. The team strives to build a culture of gratitude and ensures that donors are appreciated, informed, and engaged with the mission of Zoo Knoxville. All Development Team members are expected and held accountable to support all activities and goals of the department. Within that context, the Development Services Coordinator’s primary area of responsibility is accurate record keeping and ensuring donor satisfaction by executing timely, accurate, and compliant gift entry and processing. This position requires a high level of detail, organization, and commitment to accuracy. Additionally, the Development Services Coordinator provides administrative support for the smooth running of the department. This position works closely with all members of the Development Team in an environment dedicated to advancing the mission of Zoo Knoxville.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform gift and constituent data entry and associated administrative activities to ensure the timely processing of gifts and donor acknowledgements
• Maintain accurate and organized gift and acknowledgement documentation per Zoo Knoxville standards
• Focus on data integrity, working collaboratively to identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in an effort to continuously improve data and systems
• Work on various projects designed to enhance biographical and prospect information in the donor database
• Provide donor summaries to the Development Team daily; compile lists and reports as needed
• Provide general office management and support for the Upper Administration building housing Development, Marketing, and the President & CEO
• Support the Development Team in the execution of the Capital Campaign, Zoofari, Circle of Friends, Planned Giving programs and other development initiatives
• Attend zoo events and activities as required
• Additional duties as assigned or as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A strong affinity for the mission of Zoo Knoxville
• A keen interest in data and a desire for efficiency and accuracy
• Acts with integrity, has high standards of professional conduct and respect for confidentiality
• Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize and recognize nonstandard issues as they arise
• Flexible, detail-oriented, organized and able to respond to multiple demands
• Ability and willingness to work outside regular business hours, including some evenings and weekends
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge donor database or similarly complex program preferred
• Experience providing administrative and data support in a non-profit environment preferred
• Certifications issued from Blackbaud, Microsoft, or other industry software preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:
As an employee of Zoo Knoxville, you must possess English communication skills as well as the ability to communicate using a 2-way radio, email and telephone. The position hours vary depending on business needs and will require weekend and some holiday shifts. Depending on the specific tasks, this position will be required to work within close proximity of exotic and domestic animals and must be aware that there are dangers inherent in working under those conditions.
