The Director of Donor Relations and Special Events will have primary responsibilities for optimizing the donor experience through cultivation, stewardship and revenue generating events. Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Campaign and Major Gifts, the Director will work closely with Advancement leadership to establish the strategic and creative direction for the program by leveraging storytelling, donor impact communications, and the donor experience leading to a long-term, meaningful relationship with BC High. The Director will play a key role in orchestrating a wide variety of cultivation and stewardship events related to the upcoming comprehensive campaign.

Primary Responsibilities:

● Model Advancement team values of collaboration, teamwork, professionalism. ● Work in partnership with the Vice President of Advancement, Vice President of External Relations, and other members of the BC High community to develop and execute best in-class events for target audiences. ● Design and execute cultivation and stewardship strategies to include goals and objectives, vision, budget, project management, and assessment indicators. ● Develop and execute a highly engaging events calendar for the BC High community that includes donors, alumni, families, friends, faculty, and staff. ● Collaborate with the External Affairs team to develop communications plan(s) for cultivation, stewardship, and special events to include, but not limited to, conceptual design, written content for collateral and promotion materials, and social and digital media strategies. ● Supervise staff and volunteers around events preparation, production, and management of timelines, budgets, logistics, and metrics. ● In collaboration with the Finance office, manage relationships with BC High sponsors and vendors to ensure written agreements for contract services are obtained and fulfilled within the predetermined scope(s) of work on-time and within budget. ● Design and implement donor surveys for the purpose of refining and improving offerings, messaging, and donor communications. ● Measure and analyze results of donor engagement activities to determine effectiveness and satisfaction of the BC High community including donors, alumni, families, friends, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of demonstrated success leading events and constituent engagement programs. ●Proven ability and experience building strong relationships with internal and external partners, i.e., colleagues, volunteers, and others, motivating them to ensure efficient and meaningful experiences for event attendees. ● Extensive work with executive level professionals is highly desired. ● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills. ● Demonstrated understanding of fundraising best practices with special attention to donor events, acquisition, stewardship, and retention. ● Proven ability to take initiative, ownership and leadership of projects and timelines with keen attention to detail. ● Capability to design and execute events with creativity, timeliness, expense, and revenue projections. ● Clear understanding of the importance of brand identity and experience tying brand to events. ● Proven ability and experience building strong relationships with internal and external partners, including vendors. ● Ability to follow systems and procedures while also exhibiting creative thinking. ● Experience with Raiser’s Edge and project management software preferred. ● Travel and weekend/evening work is required; other duties as assigned.
