Position: Fund Development Specialist

Supervisor: Development Manager

Location: Dallas, TX (currently working in a hybrid model, must reside in the DFW area)

Job Description:

The Fund Development Specialist is responsible for ensuring a high-quality database, including gift entry, timely and accurate donor acknowledgment, and reporting. Another key function of the position will be to provide administrative support to the Director of Development and the development team, including but not limited to purchase orders, invoices, and board committee preparation. This position requires nonprofit development database experience, the ability to work autonomously, and excellent teamwork skills and communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter all gifts and pledges into Raiser’s Edge, including those from third-party platforms such as YourCause, Benevity, etc
  • Enter and maintain new constituent data in Raiser’s Edge
  • Prepare donor acknowledgments, fundraising reports, benchmarking surveys,
  • and metrics using Raiser’s Edge
  • Execute queries, imports, and exports from Raiser’s Edge
  • Manage monthly donors, including processing monthly gifts using Raiser’s Edge Online Express and sending welcome packets to new monthly donors
  • Reconcile and distribute monthly gift reports with the Finance department
  • Manage gift-in-kind process including coordination with staff, data entry, and receipts
  • Ensure compliance with gift recording policies and industry best practices
  • Assist with possible CRM transition within two years
  • Serve as point of contact between Finance department and Fund Development department; responsible for processing financial paperwork
  • Coordinate development department meetings (scheduling, distributing support materials, correspondence, meeting minutes)
  • Prepare travel arrangements for development staff
  • Assist in the production of documents, especially grant proposals
  • Provide general office support as needed

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience using Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT in a prior position (Experience in other CRMs may be considered). Raiser’s Edge Pro certification is preferred
  • Familiarity with an array of fundraising software including but not limited to auction software and third-party donation platforms such as YourCause, Benevity, etc.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, along with an understanding of data management/gift entry best practice
  • Ability to maintain discretion with respect to confidential information
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment
  • Superior project, time, and organizational management skills required
  • Possess exceptional judgment and Integrity
  • Organized, creative, and detail-oriented
  • Able to represent the organization in a professional manner
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Flexibility in schedule, ability to attend events after work hours or on weekend
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and the Google Suite required
  • Most importantly a passion for Mosaic Family Services mission and making a difference in the North Texas Community
  • Must hold valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation.
