Systems Developer/Engineer @ THE Ohio State University


Reporting to the Associate Director of Applications Development, the Systems Developer/Engineer provides technical application development and shares responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, and support of custom and off-the-shelf applications; follows approved life cycle methodologies; performs program coding and testing. This is a hands-on position requiring a working knowledge in relational databases, with web and client-server concepts using .NET technology. They serve as a technical resource in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of responsive and accessible websites, customizations to the Blackbaud CRM system, and SQL Server stored procedures and related Information Systems that ensure seamless, secure, consistent transactions that support a variety of outreach, engagement, and fundraising efforts. The Systems Developer/Engineer is expected to have excellent analytical, debugging, verbal and written skills; works independently and in a team on complex projects and applications; translates functional specifications into very high quality, well written and documented applications; and excellent ability to multi-task, prioritizing and organizing tasks in order to maximize productivity and meet the needs of customers. Required: Bachelor's degree in computer and information science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 2+ years of experience with VB.NET, C#, or ASP.NET Core; experience with Microsoft SQL Server, specifically T-SQL; working knowledge in relational databases; application development experience in analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, support and enhancement of .NET applications; 1+ years of experience in implementing and accessing RESTful web services and general API development using JSON, SOAP, XML, etc.; working knowledge of client-server and web server concepts using Microsoft .NET technologies. Experienced in source control tools such as TFS and Git.

Desired: Experience with cloud computing services; Experience with SSRS
