An affiliate of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health system, the nonprofit community medical center provides a continuum of care spanning primary care and specialty medicine, to surgical services and acute inpatient care.

Cheshire Health Foundation is the successful philanthropic arm of Cheshire Medical Center, raising much-needed funds to support the Medical Center’s health and wellness mission. The Foundation has a dedicated board of trustees.

Job Description

Cheshire’s Development team has 6 members and is seeking a full-time Database and Development Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Specialist is responsible for gift processing, database maintenance and data entry using the Raiser’s Edge NXT suite of tools, and donor acknowledgements. The Specialist also supports the administrative functions of the Development office, managing operations and collaborating with Development staff to support fundraising efforts and community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive contributions and record data into our Raiser’s Edge database, process checks and other gifts, maintain the constituent database following departmental protocols and best practices, and create acknowledgments and other communications pertaining to donations. Process online donations and biweekly payroll deduction gift batches.
  • Perform tasks associated with gift processing, including regular bank deposits, the processing and reporting of credit card gifts, and fund reconciliation and record keeping in conjunction with Cheshire Finance and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Finance Departments.
  • Assist with database maintenance in collaboration with the Development Specialist, including coding and updating of constituent status and address information.
  • Support fundraising events through the processing of participant fees and sponsorship revenue through updating Raiser’s Edge event modules.
  • Support Philanthropy department with the scheduling and coordination of meetings. Provide support for special projects and donor events, and contribute to the upkeep of presentations for on-campus promotional and informational materials. If needed, assist with press releases and advertisements and arranging photo shoots and photo releases.
  • Manage/oversee office equipment and maintenance issues; maintain and order office supplies; and organize files.
  • Provide project coordination assistance, including the documentation and tracking of project schedules and budgets.

Skills

  • Experience with constituent databases, specifically Raiser’s Edge or similar database, and data entry processes highly desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Competency in writing, spelling, and proofreading
  • Basic knowledge of budgets and reconciliation
