To assist the credit union in the achievement of its goal to always make a positive difference in each member's financial life. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality of service to internal/external members, identifying their financial needs and recommending products and services that would meet those needs. This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and submitting grant proposals selected to advance the credit union's mission and meet organizational objectives. In addition, they will be responsible for working with the Nspire team in fundraising and advancement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • While meeting the service standards of the credit union and Nspire, lead evaluation of incoming funding requests and search and build grants pipeline for application. Support grant development, risk evaluation, and writing and funding applications by performing research, leading proposals, coordinating community partnership, design evaluation, etc. Communicate to executive director opportunities for grants and strategic partnerships specific to federal grants and national funding. Coordinate and implement the same efforts for national strategic partnerships and alliances. Work directly with the executive director to identify potential collaborators for grant programs relative to the organizations objectives. Provide reports as needed or assigned.
  • Provide strategic planning and support of all fundraising and advancement efforts. This will include support of Community Giving, Corporate and Individual Engagement, Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Grants, Development Operations, and Stewardship. Work closely with the Executive Director of Nspire to create and maintain key external relationships and support fundraising potential. Meet defined individual and assist in Nspire's goals and objectives.
  • Support development and implementation of detailed project plans that will align with the overall strategic goals.
  • Coordinates community presence via social media, media inquiries, op-eds, press releases and other media platforms as assigned.

This position has a hybrid remote work arrangement with the understanding that onsite work may be scheduled.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
    • *Previous Grant writing experience is required.*
  • Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Other Skills: Excellent writing, editing and organization skills.
    • Background in grant writing required.
    • Proficient computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of computer systems including
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
