TITLE: Data and Business Services Associate
LOCATION: New Orleans - remote work possible
POSITION TYPE: Contract

HOURS:
This is a contract position averaging 20 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Actual schedule worked is negotiable. Remote work is possible.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum five years of experience using constituent relationship management software (CRM), preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge. Experience working in a nonprofit philanthropic setting is preferred.

DESCRIPTION
The Data and Business Services Associate is a part-time position responsible for gift entry, gift acknowledgement, reporting and data management for all fundraising efforts. This individual should be fluent in constituent relationship management (CRM) software, preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge. A minimum of two years of experience in this area is required. The associate will also work in foundation specific web-based event software and accounting software. The associate will coordinate back office service contracts and perform some monthly accounting functions. The position reports to the Vice President and is an integral part of the development team, working in collaboration with the Development Director, Communications Director, Controller and the administrative team.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Exceptional attention to detail to continually improve accuracy, consistency and quality in the database
  • Ability to quickly extract and clearly report data from a constituent relationship management (CRM) software, preferably Blackbaud Raiser's Edge.
  • Excellent business writing and editing skills: development communication experience a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and exercise independent action, meeting various milestones and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other web based software
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, marketing, communications, philanthropy, nonprofit management or a related field from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Substantial experience can be taken into consideration in place of the education requirement

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages Raiser's Edge donor database, including routine maintenance, global changes, lists, and data cleanup projects
  • Accurately enters all gifts and donor information in event software and Raiser’s Edge
  • Manages event software including tracking of payments
  • Efficiently produces queries and reports, including generating mailing lists, pledge reminders, and donor invoices
  • Generates and mails gift acknowledgement letters in a timely manner
  • Helps to create and implement standard operating procedures for constituent data management
  • Collaborates with controller to reconcile monthly development financials
  • Assist with monthly accounting functions, such as enter purchase orders for recurring monthly bills, monthly office contracts, vendors
  • Assist in managing AMEX expense reports
  • Support invoicing of auction winners and track payments owed
  • Support invoicing of event sponsors and ticket buyers
