Job Opening: Development Operations Associate, New York, NY

The Development Department at the Juilliard School is hiring.

Description: Reporting to the Director of Development Operations, the Development Operations Associate serves as the primary gift processor and supports the general operations of the Juilliard Development office. As a member of the Development Operations team, this individual interacts with the Finance Office on a regular basis to report and reconcile gifts.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for all gift and membership processing; enter gifts and pledges in Raiser’s Edge, deposit checks to the bank, scan copies of gift entries to electronic gift batch files and serve as primary contact point with Development staff to ensure donor intention and proper coding of gifts.
  • Act as a liaison with Finance, delivering gift back up and transmittals, as well as other requests such new fund requests.
  • Manage all acknowledgement templates, gift acknowledgments, and delivery of acknowledgments in a timely manner and in accordance with established protocol.
  • With the Development Operations team, fulfills Development Office data requests, utilizing query, export, and reporting tools in Raiser’s Edge and Spektrix, Juilliard’s new ticketing system.
  • Assist the Development Operations team with ongoing maintenance of the development databases; help review current and new Development Operations policies and standards.
  • Serve as point of contact for Raiser’s Edge and Spektrix.
  • Serve as point of contact for Blackbaud’s NetCommunity; creates and maintains online giving and event registration pages.
  • Responsible for other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; 1-3 years of working in fundraising or in a nonprofit setting.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with database management; experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and/or Spektrix preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Experience with HTML and web site management a plus.
  • Knowledge or interest in the performing arts is a plus.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies (staff, students, faculty, and administrators) with diplomacy and tact
  • Understanding of the mission of The Juilliard School as well as the school’s commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging
