The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer with expectation of increasing responsibility. This individual is responsible for journal entries, reconciliation, compiling and analyzing data, and other month-end and year-end responsibilities, including working with the auditors. Knowledge of the general ledger, financial statements, fixed assets, and consolidation is needed. This individual needs outstanding communication skills for working with front-line staff, management and board members, plus community donors and others.

Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting, 3+ years of experience through month-end, financial statement prep experience is a plus. CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) credentials are desired.

Requirements

Responsibilities:
• Generate journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement consolidations, fixed assets, pre-paid expenses, AP, AR - more responsibility given as they pick up more.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Responsible for accounting related to donations, capital purchases and sub-ledger detail.
• Supports functions of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Manages the relationship with and reports to auditors
• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
• Observant, accurate and conscientious to detail
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
