Stewardship Coordinator- The Diocese of Niagara Hamilton, ON Full-time

The Anglican Diocese of Niagara is seeking a full-time coordinator for its donor-centric stewardship initiatives, reporting to the treasurer and director of finance. To deepen active engagement in stewardship as a vital part of discipleship, the coordinator will also support parishes and affiliated ministries with all aspects of their stewardship ministry and will play a key role in overseeing the diocesan Raiser’s Edge database and its ongoing management.

Primary Responsibilities:

1) Stewardship Development

• support a culture of generous, intentional living that contributes to the renewal and mission of the faith communities and affiliated ministries of the Diocese
• develop, adapt, and promote stewardship resources and communications
• work with staff and volunteers to offer workshops and to ensure events embody stewardship best practices appropriate for faith communities

2) Fundraising and Grants

• provide administrative support and coordination for diocesan fundraising initiatives, major gift campaigns, and grant applications
• provide advice and resources for parish and affiliated ministries fundraising campaigns and available grants opportunities

3) Administrative Leadership and Database Management

• oversee the Raiser’s Edge database and maintain its integrity
• prepare and coordinate the timely distribution of tax receipts and thank you letters

Qualifications and Skills:

• a degree or certificate from a post-secondary institution with at least 5 years of work-related experience; a CFRE designation is an asset
• demonstrated ability to organize and implement campaigns including major gifts, annual appeals, grant writing, corporate and foundation giving, and special events
• ability to build, develop and maintain relationships with donors
• proficiency in Raiser’s Edge database, MS Office, and other donation platforms
• highly developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to inspire trust in people from a wide variety of backgrounds and work as part of a team
• excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
• familiarity with the life, culture, values and vision of the Anglican Church of Canada as expressed in the Diocese of Niagara
