Rawson Saunders School in Austin, Texas, seeks an organized, dependable, highly skilled Development Assistant to join our team. The Development Assistant will be responsible for supporting the mission of Rawson Saunders through various channels of fundraising. The Development Assistant will report to the Director of Development to synthesize needs and goals to achieve Rawson Saunders’ long-term financial success.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure prompt and accurate donation gift entry, receipting, gratitude, and pledge management in Raisers Edge NXT, CRM.
  • Oversee third-party giving platforms and ensure prompt gift processing and acknowledgment.
  • Identify silent auction prizes and in-kind donations for special events and programs.
  • Assist with fundraising activities & other development activities as assigned.
  • Collaborate on marketing materials for fundraisers, special events, and awareness campaigns.
  • Manage donor database, including all data entry, tracking donor history, and keeping donor contact information current.
  • Maintain and develop procedures for data entry.
  • Make recommendations for information systems as appropriate.
  • Perform regular database maintenance and clean-up projects to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Generate reports and mailing lists from the donor database for use by the Director of Development.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including G-Suite (Gmail, Documents, Sheets)
  • High attention to details
  • Prior experience with database systems is required; NXT is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of working with sensitive information with complete confidentiality
  • Perform other duties as asked or needed
  • Ability to pass a criminal history, background, and DFPS registry check

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is encouraged but not required.
  • 2 years of nonprofit fundraising experience preferred.
  • Part-time hours: 28 hours per week. (9 AM - 3 PM Monday - Friday)
  • Working experience with donor relationship software, preferably Blackbaud’s Raisers’ Edge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Initiative, research, and organizational skills.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for working with people and advancing the mission of Rawson Saunders.
  • A passion for dyslexia education is strongly desired.
