Key Skills and Job Requirements

Develop and implement a powerful and measurable marketing plan to advance the organization’s message, brand awareness and generate leads for strategic partnerships (15%).

  • Key Skills: Know how to create and convey a brand image, tell compelling stories about our activities, and drive traffic to our website

Manage all digital marketing channels (website, SEM & SEO, emails, and social media) to ensure effectiveness of campaigns and consistency of branding. Working with senior leaders and others, manage and improve website and social media content. (25%)

  • Key Skills: Utilize deep knowledge of Google Analytics and other tools for measuring website and social media impact, evaluate results and adjust strategies as needed, and provide strong project leadership and management.

Lead the continuing development and maintenance of all digital marketing assets, including the website, flyers, brochures, press releases, videos, podcasts, and photographs. Ensure consistent editing and accuracy of digital media (25%).

  • Key Skills: Strong leadership, focus on continuous improvement, commitment to quality.

Direct the activities of the marketing and communications team, including budget preparation and management. Create and monitor KPIs for the team. (25%)

The Director of Digital Marketing is a Team Builder to the highest degree, with direct leadership development responsibility for two (2) team members: Strategic Communications and Storytelling Leader and a Marketing and Media Specialist.

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days may be allocated with responsible freedom to ensure that job goals and responsibilities are met with excellence. Be confident that we trust your ability to do your job well, as it works best for you and the organization.

Travel
90% of travel is local during traditional business hours. Out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected 10% of the time. As the organization scales and expands, travel ratios could tip closer to 80% local, 20% out-of-the-area. Overall, we believe and trust that you will exercise wisdom and discernment to travel as needed to fulfill job goals and responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a relaxed, people-centric environment with occasional forays into more traditional professional settings and has a significant virtual component. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers (laptop and/or desktop), phones, voicemail systems, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, and fax machines. This is a remote position, however applicants in St. Louis MO, Charleston, SC, and Midland, MI are preferred.

Required Education and Experience

  • Proven examples of people-centric leadership.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement experience. Proven ability to make mistakes, learn from them, and improve.
  • 3-5 years of experience creating and leading effective marketing strategies that produce measurable results.
  • Analytic and decisive decision maker with the ability to prioritize and communicate to staff key objectives to achieve organizational goals.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality resource development, sustainable programs and people leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; persuasive and passionate public speaking skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software, and cloud-based data sharing, or appropriate combination of the above.
  • Action-oriented, flexible, quality-minded, and innovative
