Hiring a Database Manager in Jefferson City, Missouri

Vitae Foundation in Jefferson City, Missouri is looking for a full-time Database Manager. The position is salary and comes with benefits.

Position Description Summary:

The Database Manager reports directly to the COO/CFO, providing database support for Vitae staff in Missouri and out-state areas. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, the ability to perform under pressure with deadlines, and discretion with the use of constituent information. Oversees and operates computer software that processes, records, stores, transfers, prints, or displays donor data according to operating instructions; maintains proper files and forms; tracks pledges and related financial information and correspondence. Resolve conflicts regarding policy and procedure regarding database entry and letter composition and mailing. The Database Manager completes the majority of database work based on Raiser’s Edge functionality and Vitae’s use of information. The Database Manager is required to make decisions based on information received and keeps the COO/CFO informed on database issues through verbal and written communication. Must build and maintain a working relationship with all Vitae database users in Missouri and out-state regions, Blackbaud associates, and computer maintenance vendors. This position requires continuing education in Raiser’s Edge and PaperSave to maintain the ability to use systems at a working rate.

General Responsibilities:

The Database Manager's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.

  • Create new database users and adjust permissions as necessary
  • Respond to requests from Vitae employees for reports, queries, snapshots
  • Send monthly pledge reminders, track pledges for routine payments and completeness,
  • Assist in preparing thank you letters and tax statements according to appeal and event
  • Prioritize and monitor daily data entry work
  • Enter event-related registrations, sponsorships, donations
  • Processing online registrations and donations
  • Daily batch entry
  • Prepare donor-related reports
  • Create and test database queries and exports
  • Create Events in the database and set up online event pages
  • Ongoing database clean up
  • Work with the vendor for IT support to manage office IT needs and problems, when needed
  • Backup to Executive Assistant to work with vendors regarding phones, door security, and copier/printer leases, advise Executive staff on issues with current vendors or proposed vendors for these services
  • Direct staff on 1-999 direct mail and 1,000+ mailing including creating and running queries, producing Market Director lists, coding names for appropriate letters, running letters and envelopes
  • Develop and promote a recurring gift program and run monthly recurring gift payments
  • Gift adjustments and pledge write-offs
  • Prepare annual tax statements for donors
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the COO/CFO

The salary range starts at $45,000.00/year. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge is a requirement of the position.
