Managing one's transcript in Blackbaud University: How do I delete classes?

Since the roll out of Training Paths in Raiser's Edge I've found that I have a TON of classes in my transcript which I am NEVER going to take, but got added to my transcript because there is no way (to my knowledge) to add ONLY the specific class that I want.

I've complained, err… provided feedback about my dislike of training paths, but given that is what we've got for now I'm trying to learn to live with it.

I'd like to delete those classes which I'm not going to take from my transcript so I don't have to weed through the noise. So far the only option I can find is to click on the three dots and “mark as outdated”. Unfortunately, it seems that this simply notifies BB that the content is outdated rather than that the course is outdated for my transcript.

How do I get all the unnecessary classes out of my transcript? Any suggestions?

Is there some magical way of only adding a single class from a series to my transcript? If so, I'm clearly missing it.

All suggestions are welcome, friends!

  • @Carlene Johnson Thanks for writing in! And, thank you for contacting our Blackbaud University Training Help team to ensure that your transcript is where you want it to be. For anyone who has signed up for a Learning Path and would like to have it removed, email us at traininghelp@blackbaud.com or chat with us, we're happy to help.

    We also appreciate your feedback on the overall student experience with BlackbaudU Campus. We have been working on plans to address course discoverability, and to hone in on Learning Paths that help new and expert users alike learn their Blackbaud solutions. We know that some topics cannot be covered in a single course, we believe Learning Paths are the best way to collect courses into a single area that combine to cover important functional areas like fundraising, communications, or database administration.

    For organizational best practices, we currently have four Learning Paths, “Basics” path of self-paced e-learning courses, an “Essentials” path of instructor-led courses, then separate paths in marketing and fundraising that both work up to individual Blackbaud University certifications. If you have any questions or suggestions for future learning paths, let us know!

    @Kyle Leary
    This was my pm to Carlene:

    LOL still laughing - I feel exactly the same way about their new 'improved' training. Figured it was just me as sometimes once I'm used to somethings I don't like change. I have 99+ notifications every time I go there and have asked numerous times how to clear. Totally useless. I haven't taken time to figure out where all the other courses have come from - but training path makes sense.

    And great point about training path. I would say based on how we use RE that staff never need all the courses in a path to meet the required courses for their trainings. I am covering for several other staff positions and haven't taken time to share my thoughts with BB. ?

    I have the same problem with notifications as you @JoAnn Strommen ! There's no point looking because I have had to sign up for training paths with training I have already done but before the cut-off for retaining the completed course data. Both the notifications and virtual coach keep encouraging me to do training I have already completed, but of course, BlackbaudU has no idea because that data is deleted.

    With the notifications, I think the best I can do is mark them all as read but there's no way to delete them. Is there a way to opt out of receiving them?

    Since it's full of courses I've completed already, but are marked “not started” it's also really difficult to tell when there are new courses that might be useful because…they look exactly like the ones I've done. :( If there was something like Blackbaud Champions has where you can dismiss a challenge that you're unlikely to attempt for “later” but can still revisit a list of those “later” items if you change your mind, it would really help.

    @Carlene Johnson it appears we are all in the same boat, which is to say have tons of useless notifications and courses overflowing that we have taken. When they first migrated to the new platform it was telling me I needed to certify because I wasn't qualified for courses. I'd certified the end of 2020 but that did not sit well with their system. They ended up having to do something to override it so I could sign up for courses.

    I think overall the way things are now is probably really useful for newer users. For those of us who have taken courses over a handful of years, though, before the migration, it is proving frustrating. I guess we will just have to keep at it. Sorry I don't have any better suggestions!
